Tribhuvan University is a state-funded college for advanced education, situated in Kirtipur, which is an old city in the Kathmandu Valley of Nepal. History of Tribhuvan University

The university was set up on 25 June 1959 (or 11 Ashar 2016 BS), Tribhuvan University is the most established and biggest college in Nepal. The college was named after the late King Tribhuvan. In its initial years, all the postgraduate classes were held at Tripureshwor Campus. The authoritative office was likewise situated in Tripureshwor. It was uniquely in 1967, that the college was migrated to its primary grounds in Kirtipur – an antiquated town around 5 km south-west of the city of Kathmandu. The college, which spreads over a region of 154.77 hectares, establishes the Central Administrative Office and the Central Campus. TU marked its golden jubilee in 2009 by organizing programs.

Academics of Tribhuvan University

Since its commencement, the state-claimed college has extended its projects. There are five specialized foundations and four general resources. The college offers 115 courses for the specialized capability declaration level. TU offers 1079 courses at Bachelor's level and 1000 courses at the Master's level. It offers Ph.D. degrees in specialized foundations and offices. TU ran its projects just through its constituent grounds before 1980.
