Birgunj is situated in the southern part of Nepal, about 135 kilometers south of Kathmandu. Being the connecting link between Nepal, and Indian states such as Kolkata and Patna, Birgunj is known as the “Gateway of Nepal”. National Medical College Admission Eligibility and Requirements

  • Age:

    There is no upper limit of age for seeking National Medical College admission, but the lower limit of age is at least 17 years old of age at the time of admission.

  • Entrance examination:

    The students, both Nepalese and Non-Nepalese, are selected based on the “Postgraduate Medical Entrance examination” conducted by Tribhuvan University. The Exam is conducted in January 2021.

    The applicant should have completed education from a recognized university, with a minimum of 50 percent aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, for National Medical college admission.

    The applicant should be NEET-UG qualified.

  • Documents required for National College of Medicine admission:

    Scanned copies of Indian passport, MCI certificate, Visa validation documents, birth certificate

  • Students qualified in the entrance examination are then evaluated based on Group Discussion, followed by personal interview. National Medical College admission procedure starts in July, through online application forms.

Internship

A student after passing the final MBBS Examination has to undertake a compulsory rotating internship of one year (at the Teaching Hospital of this medical college). On completion of the internship, he/she will be awarded the MBBS Degree by Tribhuvan University. For registration with Nepal Medical Council, the medical graduate is required to pass the Nepal Medical Council Licencing Examination (NMCLE).
