College of Medicine of Hunan Normal University College of Medicine owns 6 laboratories and 1 Basic Medical Experimental Center. 6 laboratories are medical morphology, medical functions, clinical medicine, clinical laboratory, pharmacology and preventive medicine laboratory. The College has set up 7 scientific research offices, they are molecular biology, applied physiology, cardiovascular pharmacology, parasitology, cardiovascular diseases, nephropathy of the combination of Chinese and western medicines, and genome epidemiology. The college is equipped with advanced instruments and excellent researching conditions, which facilitates greatly the teaching and research for the students and teachers. Hunan Normal University College of Medicine have 5 specialties for undergraduates, they are clinical medicine, nursing, clinical laboratory, pharmacology and preventive medicine. Authorized by Hunan Education Commission, pharmacology and clinical laboratory are the key constructive specialties, and biochemistry and anatomy are key subjects of the provincial level. Besides, 6 graduate programs are provided; they are physiology, pathogeny biology, medicine, epidemic & public health statistics, pharmacognosy, and pharmaceutical analysis. So far, a higher medical education system with medical prevention and cure has been established at our college, which has been accepted as one of the key base of medical education in Hunan province.
There are 184 staffs in this college, 21 of them are professors, and 38 are associate professors. Our graduates are highly praised by the society.

Hunan Normal University consists of 24 colleges and 3 individual teaching departments, which offer 85 bachelor degree programs, 223 master degree programs and 127 doctoral degree programs. The university also has set up 18 postdoctoral research centers, owns 6 national key disciplines, 13 national education and research bases, 9 key disciplines subsidized by the 211 Project and 18 provincial key disciplines. The main campus of Hunan Normal University lies between Xiangjiang River and jade green Yuelu Mountain. In general Hunan Normal University has five campuses; Er Li Ban Campus, South Campus, Xian Jian Hu Campus, Shuda Campus and Zhang Gong Ling Campus. The library of the University has the largest collection of 3.4 million books among the universities and colleges in Hunan including 200,000 pieces of old traditional thread binding books, and subscribes 4,700 Chinese and foreign periodicals.

The foreign students' dormitory at Hunan Normal University is constructed according to the Standard of three-star hotel. Each room is with a pirate washing room and a balcony. In the room there are a TV set, a fridge, a telephone, a water heater, internet service, bookshelves, desks, soft simmons beds and etc. Public laundry is in the basement and public kitchens are located in each floor. The foreign students' dormitory living fee is much cheaper than those in Beijing and Shanghai.

In the main campus of Hunan Normal University, there are two big student dining rooms. Each one is with two floors. Together, at the dinner time, these dining rooms can provide food and space for about 20,000 students at the same time.

Changsha the capital of Hunan Province in south-central China located on the lower reaches of the Xiang River, a branch of the Yangtze River. Changsha, a cradle of Xiang Chu culture with population of 7.31 million, is national first historical and cultural city.

Changsha was important from the time of the Qin dynasty (221207 BC). In AD 750–1100 Changsha was a major commercial hub, and its population increased greatly.
