The University of Rajshahi has a campus spread across 753acres of land and about 3km apart from the Rajshahi city center. The university has around 25,000 students and academic strength of approximately 1000 students, Thereby, making it one of the largest in Bangladesh Universities. University of Rajshahi emblem has a circle that represents the world and a dual-color book. The red color represents one of the colors of the national flag of Bangladesh whereas gold represents the value of education. History of University of Rajshahi

Established in July 1953, Rajshahi University (RU) or the University of Rajshahi has provided quality higher education to its students for the last 62 years. While the University of Rajshahi was initially housed in temporary locations, such as the local Circuit House and Boro Kuthi, it is now located among the lush greeneries of Motihar and very close to the river Padma.

The University of Rajshahi is in the northern region of Bangladesh and was brought into existence after the rise in its necessity in the Northern part of East Pakistan immediately after the creation of Pakistan. After Bangladeshs independence from Pakistan in early 1971, the University of Rajshahi grew steadily in student enrolment and the size of the academic staff.

University of Rajshahi Courses

The University of Rajshahi Courses has 58 departments that are further organized into 10 faculties, namely, Arts, Law, Science, Medicine, Business Studies, Social Sciences, Life, and Earth Sciences. This Bangladesh Universities’ Art and Law faculties were established in 1953, making them the oldest in the University of Rajshahi. However, in this modern era, Bangladesh University is increasing its emphasis on specialized programs such as Pharmacy, Biochemistry, Information, and Communication Engineering (ICE), Genetics, and breeding.

Rajshahi University Admission Eligibility Criteria -

While there is no mandatory entrance exam for MBBS in Rajshahi University, the student must have cleared the NEET examination as it is mandatory for students to take admission to MBBS Course.   • The student must be aged about 17years and below 25years on or before the date of admission.

University of Rajshahi Admission process

Before you apply for MBBS at the University of Rajshahi, it is essential to remember that clearing NEET is mandatory for MBBS in any Bangladesh University. For MBBS at the University of Rajshahi Admission Process

  • The first and foremost step for the admission process of medical universities in Bangladesh is Attestation of class 10 & 12 marks sheets + pass certificate [if issued] +Admit cards from Bangladesh High Commission, Delhi.
  • Then send the attested documents to the respective medical college you are applying for.
  • Payment for the booking and seat confirmation.
  • Then you need to apply for a conditional offer letter with the college.
  • After you receive the offer letter, you need to apply for an Equivalence certificate from DGHS and submit the application with attested marks sheets to Bangladesh Deputy High Commission, Kolkata. A total sum of $60 should be paid for DGHS approval within the deadline.
  • Once that is done, an Equivalency certificate from DGHS Bangladesh will be issued in Bangladesh and the college will issue the confirmed admission letter to you.
  • Then you need to pay the remaining (balance) payment of 1st year to the college.
  • One the above process is done, you need to apply for a student visa with the following documents :
    • Class 10 & 12-Admit card, mark sheet & certificate
    • Admission letter & Equivalence Certificate.
    • TT copy [college fees transfer].
    • Birth certificate
    • 2 copies of passport size photo.
    • Original Passport
  • Once all the above steps are done, students need to report to the college once the medical college announces the deadline
