Lord Buddha Educational Academy Ltd (LBEA) came into existence to develop the nation by providing excellence in the medical sector. Soon a group of renowned entrepreneurs and medical professionals, educationalists, and socially recognized peoples joined hands to fulfill the social obligation; as a result of "Nepalgunj Medical College" was established in 1996. The college started the MBBS course in 1997, the Nursing program in 2000, and Postgraduate MD/MS in 2007.

Nepalgunj Medical College (NGMC) proves the recommendation of Nepal Medical Council, Medical Council of India, Srilanka, and Medical Councils of SAARC and other countries. The institute is enlisted in the "World Directory of Medical Schools" WHO. Thus the graduate of the institute can appear in USMLE and PLAB tests in the USA and UK. It follows the curriculum prescribed by Kathmandu University. The colleges have their own two well-equipped teaching hospitals in two main cities of Banke district, 750 bedded Teaching hospitals at Kohalpur, and 250 bedded hospitals at Nepalgunj.

Nepalgunj Medical College campus

The Campus is situated in the peaceful surrounding of East- Chisapani, Banke. The world-famous Bardia Wild Life Sanctuary, famous for its wild elephants and Royal Bengal Tiger is just nearby. The greenery around the year makes the location unique, of its kind, quiet and calm, pollution-free, and just an ideal place for good learning and teaching. The campus covers approximately 70 hectares of land with the dense plantation. The college campus is fully residential for its faculty staff and non-teaching staff. The boys and girls have separate hostels and mess facilities. The security men, most of them are ex-army, provide round the clock security to the premises.

The academic facilities consist of spacious and well-equipped laboratories, dissection hall, and museum with a large number of specimens, library, recreational hall, multimedia lab with internet facility, and many more, to keep up with the advancing technology in the learning process.

Besides this, we have plenty of Medical learning equipment, CDs/DVDs which are exclusively used for teaching-learning purpose. Medical informatics classes are conducted for the students. The campus has an internet connection via optical fiber to make the students well connected to the world of information. To make the student feel near home, there is a PCO booth un the hostels, which provides E-mail and STD/ISD facility is available round the clock. A strong mobile network is available here for all the network service providers in Nepal.

Lecture halls, seminar rooms, and laborites are equipped with sophisticated audio-visual teaching aids, eg. LCD projectors, Slide Projectors, Overhead Projectors, Computers, and television monitors.

Nepalgunj Medical College Application process

Registration

Every candidate admitted in the course by Kathmandu University or any of the affiliated medical colleges shall register with University by remitting the prescribed fee along with the application form for registration duly filled in and forwarded to the University through the Dean of the School of Medical Science or the Principal of the affiliated college within the stipulated date.

Admission procedure for Nepalese Citizen

Kathmandu University conducts KUMET (Kathmandu University Medical Entrance Test) each year for Nepalese citizens and the admission will be done based on Merit after central counseling at Kathmandu University School of Medical Science (KUSMS) Dhulikhel, Kavre Nepal.

Admission procedure for Foreign Citizen

Candidates who are interested and seek admission in MBBS/BDS programs of Kathmandu University are informed to apply with a scanned copy 12th mark sheet and Citizenship/Passport. Those candidates must appear in the Central Entrance Test.

Only the Indian students who have passed NEET are eligible to apply.

Academic Sessions

The MBBS is a 41/2 year course plus a one-year compulsory internship. The session starts in August each year. The college follows the norms/standard and the admission criteria instructed by KU for admission.

The KU conducts the KUMET test every year in July/August. Students (Nepalese and Foreign) have to pass the KUMET. Admission will be done as per the guidelines of KU on a merit basis. Original certificates and citizenship certificates are required for admission.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Minimum age 17
  • Completed 10+2 with 50% marks with Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and English as major subjects.
  • The aggregate percentage must be 50% or above.(For Indian Students)
  • Completed 10+2 years of education (by PCB) with 50% or above marks in aggregate and 50% marks in each subject.
  • Minimum age 17 years.
  • NEET-UG qualified
  • Valid Indian Passport
  • Valid MCI certificate
  • Foreign students other than Indians, who have passed NEET are also eligible to apply and don’t have to appear in the KUMET exam. Students will be admitted based on the Merit List, which is published by KU.
