Iuliu Hatieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy

The Iuliu Hatieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy has situated in Cluj- Napoca Romania which was named in the honor of the founder Iuliu Hatiganu, which was founded in 1919 as a part of Superior Dacia University. It is the oldest medical institution in Transylvania.

The university enrols more than 6000 national and international students with Over 1100 researchers and 2400 resident physicians. The university is categorized as " advanced research and educational university" by the Ministry of Education.

The medical-surgical school was established in 1775 in Cluj.

In 1816, the medical-surgical school was renovated into medical- surgical high school.

In 1872 the Hungarian Faculty of Medicine was founded in Cluj.

Medical and pharmaceutical education witnessed a major transformation after the union of Transylvania with Romania.

In 1919, the Romanian Faculty of Medicine was established as a part of Superior Dacia University.

After some time new domains we're added like

• Stomatology
• History of medicine.

In 1919 and 1934 a new and very important faculty of pharmacy was introduced. In 1948 five new faculties we're introduced:
