Anhui Medical University

Anhui Medical University is a key provincial university in Hefei, Anhui province, China.

There are 16,673 students at the university, of whom 179 are enrolled in doctoral programs, 2,728 in master's programs, and 8,867 in undergraduate programs, plus 95 international students (including those from Hong Kong and Macao) and 7,187 students enrolled in the School of Extended Education.

Anhui Medical University History

The predecessor of Anhui Medical University was Dongnam Medical College, established in 1926 in Shanghai. Moved first to Huayuan County, Anhui Province, at the end of 1949, and then to Hefei, the capital of Anhui Province, in 1952, Dongnam Medical College changed its name to Anhui Medical College.

In June 1996, approved by the National Committee on Education, Anhui Medical College was renamed Anhui Medical University.

The university has 24 directly affiliated teaching units and ten affiliated hospitals, plus 42 clinical schools and 37 teaching hospitals. Other professional practicing and teaching bases connected to the university are over 100. The university at present offers 29 undergraduate programs and options.

Regarding advanced studies, the university has eight doctoral programs, five first-rate-discipline master's programs, 64 master's programs, and five professional degree programs. The university was authorized to offer an MD degree in clinical medicine and a professional degree in stomatology at master's level. The two degrees, especially that of MD, symbolize a major breakthrough in the advanced professional education in Anhui Province, making it possible for the university to cover in its curricula the full-range professional education at undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels.

Three post-doctoral programs have been set up in pharmacy, clinical medicine, and public health and preventive medicine. The university owns one national key academic discipline and 22 provincial key academic disciplines, as well as 27 provincial key clinical-medicine disciplines and priorly-supported disciplines. It also owns two key laboratories of the Ministry of Education co-established by Anhui Province and the Ministry of Education, 13 laboratories co-established by the central (the Ministry of Finance) and local authorities, and 19 key laboratories (technological and engineering centres, and public scientific service facilities) at provincial level or above.

Besides, Anhui Medical University is the national base for the study of clinical medicines and chemical reagents. Two courses have been ranked among the National Elite Courses, and two programs approved nationally as the featured ones among the institutions of higher learning.

The University currently has four main campus areas — the campus of Meishan Road Area, the campus of Feicui Road Area, the east campus (under construction), and the campus of Chaohu School of Clinical Medicine, covering an area of 1.21 sq. km in total. The University consists of 16 directly-affiliated teaching institutions and has 6 directly-affiliated hospitals (the First Affiliated Hospital, the Second Affiliated Hospital, the Fourth Affiliated Hospital, Affiliated Chaohu Hospital, Affiliated Fuyang Hospital and Stemmatological Hospital of Anhui Province).

Admission Process for Anhui Medical University

  • Step 1 Following Documents Required to Apply in Anhui Medical University
    • Application Form
    • One passport size photo Marksheets of 11th & 12th standards from the respective board or council of education.
    • School Leaving Certificate
    • Certificates of class 11th & 12th from the concerned board or council of education

  • Step 2

    Once you have submitted all of the documents, Eklavya Overseas will carefully assess and send them to the Admission Committee for International Students of the particular University you have chosen.

  • Step 3

    The student is required to pay the application, admission, and processing fees as per the University norms. The application and the processing fee need be paid in advance.

  • Step 4

    The processing fees can be sent to China or India, whichever is earlier.

  • Step 5

    After receiving the payment, we will do it all for you and send you the official photocopy of your Admission Letter issued by the University within seven working days. Also, we process your documents to the ministry of education in China for the issuance of the JW2O2 form that is required by the Chinese embassy in your country to issue a Student Visa. The documents will be dispatched to you by express mail or FedEx.

  • Step 6

    Once these documents are received- the Admission Letter and the JW2O2 Form (visa form) - the student visa process can be commenced in association with your nearest Embassy/Consulate of China in your country. Documents required applying for the visa are:

    • A valid passport
    • Recent passport size photographs
    • Visa Application Form JW202 Form (Don't forget to bring the original copy while coming to China)
    • Admission Letter issued by the University.
    • Health Check-up Form / Physical Examination Record
  • Step 7

    After receiving the Visa, inform us rightly, and we will arrange the Air Tickets and inform you about the date and time of your Departure from your Country.

  • Step 8

    After you reach in China, our representative will receive you at the Airport and Guide you to the University Hostel. Next morning, the representative will also assist you in paying the Admission and Administrative fees at the University counter, wherein you will be joining the MBBS program.

  • Step 9

    The Student will not have to face any problem because he/she will be guided until our Representatives Complete the entire Process.

  • Step 10

    It takes around one month; from the time you receive the Admission Letter from us to your China Visa being issued from your Country.

The living expense here is relatively low, for example, about 150 USD for your food per month. There is special canteen only for international students.

How can I arrive in Hefei city, the location of University?

If there is no direct flight to Hefei, the recommended flight is transit from Hong Kong to Hefei (around 2.5 hours), or transit from Beijing to Hefei (around 1.5 hours), or transit from Shanghai to Hefei (around 40 min), or transit from Guangzhou to Hefei (around 1.2 hours). Students can choose the travel route according to their location.
