The College of Medical Sciences is a medical center in Bharatpur, Chitwan, Nepal. It enrolls about 100 students in the MBBS degree course each year. The private center is affiliated with Kathmandu University, Nepal, and is fully recognized by the Nepal Medical Council.

Located in the heart of Nepal, the center prides itself on its state of the art infrastructure, world-class architecture, and educated and knowledgeable technology. Of the 100 registered students, 20% of the students were nominated by the Nepalese government. All the other students paid for themselves. Nepalese-funded students are selected by Kathmandu University's Medical Entrance Examination competition.

The College of Medical Sciences has students from various regions of Nepal, India, and SAARC. The college is fully equipped with a library of more than 20,000 books and more than 17,000 medical journals. In addition to academics, the college also focuses on the health and fitness of its students which offers opportunities for recreational activities such as yoga and gym, indoor and outdoor sports for all development.

The College of Medical Sciences is located 146 kilometers from Kathmandu and 240 kilometers from the Indian city of Gorakhpur, which has high railways in Uttar Pradesh, and 126 km from the Indian city of Raxual which also has a rail junction. The center has separate accommodation for boys and girls as well as travel services.

The college has set specific goals that it aims to achieve for every student at the institution. It aims to produce high-quality doctors and community administrators who can bring about an appropriate health care delivery system and also assist the government in promoting and setting the standard of medical education and producing qualified staff to fulfill their social responsibility. History

International Society for Medical Education Pvt. Ltd (ISME Pvt. Ltd) and the Department of Education signed an agreement on August 8, 1993, at the birth of the International Institute of Medical Science in Bharatpur, Chitwan which has made changes to the health care system in need of Nepal, especially in Tarai. After a re-launch, the medical college was re-established as the College of Medical Sciences under the ISME Pvt. Ltd also resumed operations on 14 December 1995 under the leadership of Professor Pagadala Rajaram MD DSS Ph.D. (former Deputy Director-General, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India) who was the first principal of the college. With the modern concept of universal distribution of medical education and patient care in hospitals, the College of Medical Sciences has sought to teach undergraduate degrees to produce high-quality medical personnel. The center is the first medical college in the heart of Nepal; In addition to being outstanding and knowledgeable given internationally, he loves a student-centered curriculum and has a wide range of academic objectives. The curriculum is horizontal and straightforward and the lectures are minimal. Problem-based learning is emphasized and encouraged among students. A milestone, in the history of the College of Medical Sciences, was the opening of a teaching hospital on 21 January 1999 by the executive director of Nagender Pampati. This has changed the state of health care in the region with the integration of high-quality clinical technology and diagnostic resources. The hospital's first medical supervisor was Prof. G. Thippana, MD is now Prof. B. N. Patowary, M.S., head of the Department of Surgery. Links have already been established with the Royal College of Physicians, Edinburgh, and other American colleges to develop training and assistive college programs. Other collaborative efforts with overseas universities are underway with the aim of academic collaborations in the teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate medical students.

  • Eligibility for Napalese students | Admissions for self-financed Nepalese students are admitted through Kathmandu University’s written medical entrance test (KUMET) held during June/July. The Kathmandu University (KU calls for applications in June-July each year. The advertisements appear in prominent National Dailies. Successful candidates are put on 3 merit lists – A, B & C. Eligibility for MBBS in Nepal

Completed 17 years of age, and Completed 10+2 years of education or Intermediate of Science or equivalent, with English, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry as main subjects and he/she must have passed in all the subjects mentioned above, securing not less than 50% of marks in the subjects mentioned above put together and also obtain an aggregate of 50% overall.

Completed a B.Sc. degree recognized by the university with one of the following subjects viz. Physics, Chemistry, Biology and at least one other prescribed science subject of study up to the ancillary level and he/she should have scored not less than the aggregate of 50% marks; provided that such candidate shall have passed the earlier qualifying examination (10+2 or an equivalent examination) with the subjects
